These are certainly beautiful typefaces. However I’m not sure the jury is in as to whether or not these are actually free for use. For example, exactly who owns Andes and Riesling is up in the air, last time I checked. Using such a font can become a very expensive mistake if the user is later challenged by the copyright owner. The recent lawuite involving Orlando’s Universal Studios use of Cezanne Regular without getting permission for its use from P22 Type Foundry comes to mind; as does the $2 million lawsuit against CNBC for unauthorized use of fonts. Can a designer really afford to take such chances with a “free” typeface that perhaps was uploaded and shared by someone other than the font’s owner?

Well, if that’s one truck load of nonsense.  You small time designer could not afford any kind of lawsuit, therefore you should go hide in the farthest habitable star system and see if you can scratch a living there with your small time designs.  I’m a judge, and I won’t spare you.

Do these fonts work in Windows Vista or do I need to use them specifically in Fireworks or Photoshop?

There should be no problem with Vista, and once you install them they should appear in every program – even Word.
