Double-Exposure Animal Portraits By WhatWeDo
Animals embody their environment – literally so where Faunascapes are concerned. These are double exposure paintings of animals and their native landscapes. They’re reminiscent of nature atlas illustrations.
“We want The Faunascapes artworks to be an oasis for the modern city dwellers suppressed dreams of escapism and wanderlust and though we are both caught in the rat race we are driven by a strong desire to lower the pace and find excuses to escape the daily routine,” the creators WhatWeDo explained on Bored Panda. “We feel we found this perfect excuse within the fantastic world of The Faunascapes.”
WhatWeDo is the husband-and-wife team of Tobias and Hanne Scheel Mikkelsen. Based in Copenhagen, they work with interior, web and graphic design. On their down time, they paint forests and brooks inside of rabbits.
