This Instagram Model Crafts Intricate Photo Sets To Take Self-Portraits In (30 Pics)

Kimberly Douglas, going by Kihmberlie online, is a model whose creative photos have gotten her nearly 84k followers on Instagram. However, it’s not only her looks that gathered the girl so many fans – Kihmberlie actually crafts her own photo sets for each of her pictures by hand!

Kihmberlie is completely open about the photo sets she uses and always includes the behind-the-scenes photos in her posts, revealing her creative process. Upon closer examination, you can clearly see that most of the sets use simple household items, like mirrors and drapes. Just add a little imagination and you got yourself a studio!

“I was in college at a styling class and while I was styling a woman and showing her how to pose I started thinking “I wish I was in front of the camera instead of behind it.” Then I started researching and getting into modeling,” said the model in an interview with Bored Panda. “I don’t really consider myself a photographer since the majority of the time I’m only taking photos of myself, which I started doing to gain modeling experience.”

“It’s mostly just a lot of work and making sure everything is in place because you’re focus is on everything in front and behind the camera, not just one aspect of the shoot,” said Kihmberlie when asked about her creative process.

“Just go for it. I never had a backup plan. I’m not saying don’t have a plan B, but if you do have a plan B, don’t let it become a crutch where it turns into your safety net and now you’re too scared to go after what you really want to do,” advised Kihmberlie to aspiring models. “There’s always a way to create what you want, even if it looks impossible. There have been plenty of times where I’ve finished a shoot and surprised myself because I didn’t even know how I did or came up with it. I do always pray before my shoots so I know that helps.”

The model says the sets can take over 12 hours to create, consuming the bigger part of her day. This really makes you appreciate the hard work she puts into her photos!
