30 Clickbait Articles Summarized In A Single Sentence By “Stop Clickbait”

Published 4 years ago

If there’s anything more annoying than overly photoshopped photos of influencers, it’s clickbait. How many times have you found yourself clicking a flashy headline titled something like “This miracle new cure will help cure millions!” only to scroll through ten paragraphs of text and find out the miracle cure is actually garlic? This is where Stop Clickbait comes to help. To save your precious time and discourage clickbait, this project summarizes clickbaity headlines in one sentence and it’s as useful as it is hilarious.

In an interview with Bored Panda, the Stop Clickbait team said since last year, they’ve begun sending potatoes to some of the worst clickbait offenders. You can even order to have one sent to your most-disliked clickbaiter on the project’s website! “We’ve already gotten some returned back to us so I hope they’re getting just as frustrated as we are reading their clickbait articles!” joked Stop Clickbait.

“This is really a movement centered around our users and we couldn’t do it without them. I think people fall so bad for clickbait because it takes advantage of inherent curiosity,” explained the creators of the project. “If we get baited hard, a simple click can solve that itch, yet we never seem to learn it’s not worth it in the end.”

Stop Clickbait says that it’s better to build relationships with your users based on trust and integrity, as clickbait is not sustainable in the long term. “Do what’s not only best for your users, but also your organization in the long term,” advised the team behind the project.

One day, this guy just kind of figured - "I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?" - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that's trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that's too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!

Got wisdom to pour?
