10 Captivating Aerial Photographs Of Ballet Dancers Captured By Brad Walls

Published 4 weeks ago

Brad Walls is a photographer who has captured some of the most stunning aerial photos of ballet dancers in action. The photographer’s passion for fine art aerial photography started four years ago.

In an interview with DeMilked, he reveals, “The aim of the project was to disrupt traditional ballet photography, shifting its focus from shooting individual dancers to photographing the ballet corp. Most ballet photography focuses on a singular dancer in a very dramatic pose. To me, the beauty of ballet is rather opposite, it’s delicacy and teamwork.”

What makes Walls’ photos so special is the way he captures the grace and fluidity of the dancers’ movements. From above, the dancers seem to float through the air, their bodies twisting and turning in perfect synchronicity. His creative process is well thought out and diligent, leaving nothing up to chance. “There’s no better feeling for an artist seeing a project through from conception to completion. It’s a fulfilling experience,” he says.

Check out some of his truly breathtaking shots in the gallery below.
