Famous Movie Scenes Recreated In Africa

Published 9 years ago

Cinema transcends time, space, and, according to [re-]Mixing Hollywood series, cultural and racial boundaries. Models from Dakar and Adjad were invited to re-stage scenes of famous Hollywood movies in ONOMO hotels. From such vintage classics like “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” to “The Matrix”, these photos are immediately recognizable to anyone who has been to the cinema in the last half a century.

[re-]Mixing Hollywood is the project of Senegalese Omar Victor Diop and French-born Antoine Tempé, both of them based in Dakar. The cinema angle was chosen because of it’s ability to overcome all borders and massive influence to popculture. The hotels in the shoot hold a symbolic cross-roads status for people who cross borders.

I’m not happy about Fifth Element not being included, though!
