Black Girls Rock Their Natural Hair In Baroque-Inspired Shoot, And Set An Example To Girls Everywhere

Published 6 years ago

Regis And Kahran are a duo of Atlanta based photographers and the creative minds behind CreativeSoul Photography. The duo created a photo series called Afro Art, in which they photographed gorgeous portraits of girls, focusing on their natural hair.

The styles in this photo series were inspired by the Baroque period, steampunk and high-fashion ensembles. The aim of the photo series is to boost the self-esteem of kids, who might fear they are not ‘good enough’ due to lack of diversity in the media: “We feel that it is so important for kids of color to be able to see positive images that look like them in the media,” Kahran told in an interview.

The CreativeSoul duo wishes viewers see the beauty and versatility of afro hair: “We hope that girls around the world will be inspired to love their unique differences and beauty within.”

One day, this guy just kind of figured - "I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?" - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that's trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that's too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!

Got wisdom to pour?
