A popular painter at auctions, Camilla Göbl‑Wahl is celebrated for her still life paintings featuring vivid botanical scenes, distinguished by soft pastel tones and a rustic charm. Born in Vienna in 1871 and raised in Austria, Göbl‑Wahl’s work is remarkable because of her signature style of using oil paint on canvas—a departure from the more common watercolour or gouache works preferred by botanical artists. After studying at a drawing school from 1893, Göbl‑Wahl graduated in 1896 and held her first exhibition at the Vienna Künstlerhaus.
