Realistic Porcelain Dolls Filled With Sadness By Russian Designer (NSFW)
Even when this Russian artist was a child she found mass produced children dolls very boring. So when she was only 6 years old, she started making her own mysteriously enchanted dolls.
If you're looking for a cute present for a child - then you're in the wrong place. Russian artist Marina Bychkova has dedicated her career to creating these enchanted and also mysteriously sad porcelain dolls for adults.
Even when this Canada-based artist was a child she found mass produced children dolls very boring. So when Marina was only 6 years old, she started making her own dolls. This led her to the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, where she made up her mind and turned her passion into a career.
Artist's dolls are now known around the world not only for their unique look but also for the quality. They're made of porcelain, gold, silver, and even Swarovski crystals, which makes them feel even more delicate and fragile.
We tend to look at dolls as a tool for releasing the creative potential of the one who uses them, but these dolls are already full of stories of their own. You don't need to animate them to feel that eerie aura around them, begging to unlock the stories hiding behind these glassy eyes.
