20 Funny Comics With Unexpected Endings By Scribbly G (New Pics)

Published 1 week ago

Scribbly G is South African artist based in the UK who creates funny dark humor comics that always end in the most unexpected of twists. In just three years, the artist has already gathered a following of over 42k people on Instagram, and another 17k of Facebook, and I’m sure his twisted comics will have you grinning ear to ear.

In a recent interview with Bored Panda, the artist said he started making comics as a way to deal with depression. He was on medication for a long time, and felt like it only made him not care about being sad. “My life was a blur. The best part of my day was when it was finally late enough so I could go to bed without it being weird,” explained the artist. “I didn’t want to live like that, so I decided to stop all medication and try to find a hobby to bring some joy into my life. I thought back to what I enjoyed as a kid, and what stood out to me was reading comics.”

Scribbly figured he’d try making some comics of his own, even though he’d never drawn anything in his life. “I didn’t have much hope that it would help, but I was willing to try anything. Pretty much straight away, my mood started improving, I felt better than I had felt for years,” said the artist. “I didn’t think that almost 4 years later I’d still be making comics, but the fear of slipping back into depression or having to go back on medication scares me into making comics. So yeah, I pretty much make comics out of fear. I’d rather die than going back to feeling the way I felt. I believe comics saved my life.”

The artist says that people’s reactions to his comics are mostly positive, however, he noticed that the better a comic does, the more negative comments he gets. “The ones that reach the front of Reddit always have the most negative comments. I’ve stopped reading the comments on there now. I just post and ghost,” said Scribbly. “Instagram is mostly positive. I do get the occasional ‘i hate you’ comment, but that’s usually from someone who misunderstood the joke. Once someone sent me a message saying they are sending a curse to me and my family, but luckily I don’t think Instagram lets you send curses, so we’re safe.”

Aušrys Uptas

One day, this guy just kind of figured - "I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?" - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that's trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that's too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!
