However, recently the actor shocked fans everywhere by shaving his beard, that he had been sporting for over 7 years, for a good cause. In the video, shot in a desert, the actor is saying goodbye to all of the bearded characters he played throughout the years. He shows the viewers a few cans of drinks, saying that shaving in the desert is thirsty work and delivers an important message about recycling. And just like that, after a few minutes, the beard all of us recognize so well is gone.

The actor says he shaved the beard to bring awareness that plastics are ruining our planet - but he thinks he has a solution. “I don’t want to bitch about it," says Jason. "There’s only one thing that can really help our planet and save our planet as long as we recycle, and that’s aluminum. It’s 100 percent recyclable.”

This is not the first time facial hair is used to promote a good cause and one good example of that is 'Movember' - an annual event held throughout November that encourages men to grow a mustache to raise awareness of men's health issues. One of their slogans even say "Grow a mo, save a bro".
