20 Beautiful Paintings Of Vintage Cars, Clothes And Scenes

Published 1 hour ago

American-born artist Jessica Brilli began her journey in art at just eight years old, sketching portraits of her teacher and school principal. Their delighted reactions, she recalls, gave her an early glimpse of how powerful art can be. Over time, her practice has grown to blend American realism with the clean, striking aesthetics of 20th-century graphic design. Working in a bold, vintage-inspired style, she turns everyday scenes and objects from American life into carefully composed works of art.

Brilli’s paintings often mimic the look of Kodachrome slides and old photographs, the kind you might discover in a forgotten shoebox. She aims to revive images that have been ignored or discarded, giving them new presence on the canvas. Without relying on her own photographs, her process becomes something akin to borrowing memories, shaping and redirecting stories based on others’ images, experiences, and shared histories. Through this approach, she creates contemporary interpretations of ordinary moments in time, tapping into a deep, emotional nostalgia.

Shanilou Perera

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.

Got wisdom to pour?
