12 Compositions That Offer A Visual Journey With Nods To Classic Art And Modern Nuances

Published 2 hours ago

Alexandre Pelletier is the creative force behind ‘Ye Lack,’ and his journey in art spans many years. After studying in France, Pelletier built a successful career as an art director. However, it was after the Covid pandemic that he truly reconnected with painting, uncovering inspiration in his old sketches and reigniting his passion for personal artistic expression.

Drawing influence from artists like Edward Hopper and Beau Bartlett, as well as from cinema and photography, Pelletier’s work often explores themes of solitude and emotion. His latest project, Studio Le Yack*, is a vibrant showcase of his unique style—melding the raw energy of street art with the boldness of pop art. Each piece pays homage to the great classics and incorporates modern elements, blending eras and genres in a way that feels fresh and exciting.

All of this creativity happens within Pelletier’s dedicated studio space, where history and contemporary flair harmoniously collide. The creative process usually begins on the computer, combining digital research and tools like AI to explore ideas, before finalising the image in Photoshop. Once the concept is set, the work moves to canvas, where oil paint brings depth and feeling. Each piece aims to be both realistic and poetic—open for viewers to find their own meaning within the art.

*Le Yack’s new website will launch at the end of November for direct purchases and orders.

Shanilou Perera

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.

Got wisdom to pour?
