Lego Announces $200 Fully Functional Wind Turbine And Now Your Lego City Can Be Eco-Friendly

Published 6 years ago

During the New York Climate Week, Lego unveiled their latest collaboration with Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas. To celebrate green energy innovation, they have created a fully functional Lego wind turbine set that Lego describes as “a challenging and rewarding building experience with a touch of nostalgia”.

The new Lego Creator set has over 800 pieces and stands approximately 1m (39”) high. It will not only feature the large, realistic wind turbine but also toy spruce trees made from sustainably sourced plant-based plastic, adjustable wind turbine blades and even a little cottage house with a fully functioning porch light! But sadly, it still won’t charge your phone.

The set will cost $199.99 and will be released on the 23rd of November – which happens to be on Black Friday. So you might have to fight to get it!

Aušrys Uptas

One day, this guy just kind of figured - "I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?" - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that's trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that's too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!

Got wisdom to pour?
