‘Cardio-Cartographer' Creates Drawings On Maps With His Running Routes

Lenny Maughan, fondly known as the "Picasso of Strava," has transformed the streets of San Francisco into his canvas through an innovative use of modern technology. This marathon runner utilises GPS fitness apps like Strava to log his running routes, creating stunning artworks from the convoluted paths he takes. His unconventional cardio-cartography projects require meticulous planning, involving hours of navigating various terrains to achieve his artistic vision. Maughan, who describes himself with titles such as "Lineographer, Pareidoliac, Cardio-Cartographer, and Human Etch-A-Sketch" has garnered admiration from both the running and art communities for his dedication, endurance and artistry necessary to realise his concepts.  To avoid ruining an entire piece with just one misstep, he painstakingly maps out his entire route before hitting the pavement.
