Not Yet Famous Madonna’s NY Photoshoots in 1978 and 1979
Madonna’s road to fame started in 1978 New York when she met a fashion photographer Michael McDonnell. The 20-year-old girl dressed all in black with ripped jeans and frizzy hair immediately caught the photographer’s eye. He asked her to pose for him, she agreed, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Together they worked on a number of photoshoots for the next 8 months. As you’ll see below, during that time Madonna switched her style by cutting her hair short and dying it black. McDonnell uncovered not only her unique look but also the character of the soon-to-become star.
You’ve seen Madonna, now take a look at 20-year-old Marilyn Monroe before she became a Hollywood icon.
