Inspired By Fish Movements, Artist Creates Stunning Porcelain Paintings

Published 9 years ago

Niharika Hukku merges delicate porcelains and paintings of fish in her work. The drawings are fairly detailed, and colored as often as not. While many fish make appearance in her works, the koi stand out, though that might be my own bias: I’ve seen koi swarm in the moats of Japanese castles, and it’s quite a sight.

Niharika Hukku has spent over a decade as an illustrator. Now, she works with porcelain and paper. “I try to express my observations in nature and the intensity of its beauty in my work,” she wrote on Bored Panda. “I am drawn to painting fish as they create light and movement in my work.”
