This Artist Paints Creepy Realistic Eyes On Rocks And Leaves Them For People To Find (10 Pics)

Published 5 years ago

Every person has a favorite activity, like taking romantic walks along the beach, hiking or picking up rocks, painting eerily realistic human eyes on them and then returning them to the landscape – you know, just regular stuff.

We don’t know about the first two, but we’re pretty sure that Australian artist Jennifer Allnutt is particularly fond of the latter activity. The artist says she started the project after visiting Queenstown, Tasmania, a place with an extensive mining history. Jennifer noticed there were many unusual rocks everywhere and started painting eyes on some of them. And what initially started as a personal project, eventually grew into a community art project and treasure hunt. Imagine finding that in the middle of the forest on your next hiking trip!

One day, this guy just kind of figured - "I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?" - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that's trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that's too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!

Got wisdom to pour?
