20 Brilliant Comics Capturing The Beauty And Fun Of Pole Dancing, Created By Mona

The artist’s foray into the realm of pole dancing comics began in 2016 as a lighthearted endeavor to bring joy to her pole dancing friends. Little did she know that her playful illustrations would evolve into a powerful medium for self-expression and empowerment.In a recent interview with DeMilked, Mona revealed, “I have always loved drawing and at that time (2016) I was graduating from the international comic school (children’s illustration) and therefore it was natural to transpose my “adventures” on the pole into comics.”

Her inspiration, however, goes beyond the strokes of a pen. Falling in love with pole dancing, she found a sport that was not only physically demanding but also beautiful and fun. The decision to capture her experiences in comic form was driven by a desire to convey that pole dancing is for everyone, regardless of initial feelings of awkwardness or inadequacy.

Mona’s creative process is deeply rooted in her own experiences on the pole. “My cartoons are born from real experiences, what happens to me in pole dancing lessons. The funny joke comes naturally to me, I don’t think too much about it. I think this simplicity is precisely what makes my cartoons more shareable. From a practical point of view, I do a quick sketch on paper, then I work with the graphics table on the PC, both the line and the coloring,” she adds.
