Man Puts Himself And His Girlfriend Inside A Disney Movie To Propose To Her
Knowing that his girlfriend loves Sleeping Beauty, Lee Loechler decided to use this fact to propose to her in the most creative way - by turning them both into characters of the movie.

No matter what people might say, you're never too old for Disney movies. And knowing that his girlfriend, Sthuthi David, loves them (especially Sleeping Beauty), Lee Loechler decided to use this fact to propose to her in the most creative way - by turning them both into Disney characters.
The man did that by spending half-a-year editing Sleeping Beauty and replacing Princess Aurora and Prince Philip with Sthuthi and himself. Sthuthi was clearly surprised to see herself in one of her favorite movies and even more so when Lee popped the question - but she said yes! "A few years back, a friend of mine told me he was planning to propose to his then-girlfriend, and I suggested he should "Forrest Gump" himself into her favorite movie, and then have his on-screen character "toss" the ring to his real-life self," said Lee in an interview with Bored Panda. The man says he doesn't know where this idea came from but says it felt fun and magical while still playing into his skill set as a filmmaker. His friend ended up not using the idea so Lee filed it away for later use.

"When things started getting serious with Sthuthi, I started thinking about how I might propose. I still thought that idea had potential, but her favorite movie was animated. And my experience was all in live-action," said Lee. "I know some After Effects, but I am by no means an animator, let alone capable of generating something that would hold up side-by-side with Disney. But, on a whim, I scrubbed through Sleeping Beauty and noted that in the climactic scene there was very little movement. Maybe, if it's mostly static, I can still pull this off." The man then went on Instagram and started following various Disney art hashtags in hopes of finding an illustrator who would be up for the task. He eventually stumbled upon Kayla's works and thought it just might work.

The man says he got all of Sthuthi's friends and family to show up to the movie theater early and sat them in the back. "I worked with the projectionist to make sure all ambient lighting would be off when she entered, to help conceal the familiar faces," said Lee. But that's where he ran into a little problem - the projector was so bright that the light from the screen still illuminated the whole room. However, they soon came up with a solution: "To combat this, we decided to show trailers ahead of the film, which we manually darkened so there wouldn't be as much light spill onto the audience. So at 7:30 PM when we walked into the room together, it was nice and dark as we found our seats."
Lee says even though they're still planning the wedding, he's sure there will be Disney elements. "That said, if Disney wants to chalk it up as marketing dollars and hook us up with an Aulani honeymoon, we are for sure not above selling out," jokes Lee.
