Ads In London’s Underground Station Replaced Overnight With Cat Pictures

Published 8 years ago

It’s happening! Cats are taking over! And it’s starting with Clapham Common tube station in London Underground, where all of the billboard ads have been replaced overnight by the pictures of… you’ve guessed it… cats.

It’s actually a Kickstarter-funded awareness campaign by CATS (Citizens Advertising Takeover Service) which aims to get people thinking: “This isn’t a clever marketing stunt. The people behind it are volunteers. We want to inspire people to think differently about the world and realize they have the power to change it,” say the organizers.

And people put not only thought in it, the campaign raised more than 23,000 GBP from 700 donors, and their donation is going to be visible for the next two weeks in the Clapham Common station.
