Van Gogh’s Starry Night Recreated As A Glow-In-The-Dark Bike Path In Netherlands

Published 9 years ago

Nuenen, a city in the Netherlands, has a new extraordinary attraction – a dreamy solar-powered bicycle path that glows in the dark. The path, created by Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde, looks just like a river of stars, fallen down from Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.”

And it is, in fact, inspired by the great artist, who lived in Nuenen from 1883 to 1885. The piece itself is made out of LEDs lights that get charged during the day by solar arrays and light up with a glorious emerald color at night. The path, swirling and twisting in wonderful patterns, is located in Brabant, the Dutch county where Van Gogh was born and raised. Now you can remember the great artist by biking on this gorgeous kilometer-long path on a romantic star-lit bike ride.
