“We portray anonymous, ugly masked creatures as a reaction against the dominant exhibitionism of the selfie culture and beauty standards marketed by the mass media,” the couple writes on boredpanda.
As they are both passionate taxidermy collectors, they have plenty of animal companions for their nightmarish and lonesome two-legged characters. The creators point out that the mounted critters are given a second life - they dress them in the same fashions that Victorian taxidermist Walter Potter used with his work.
