DreamWorks Animator Turns Famous Movie Characters Into Cupcakes

Do want to build a cupcake? Because Fernanda Abarca does! She owns a cake company that makes sweets inspired by the biggest animation movies out there. Big Hero 6, How To Train Your Dragon 2, Frozen – all of them have characters that have been encased in sugar. Fernanda doesn’t shy away from the classics, either, as Little Mermaid cakes are also present. Like we said, no character is safe!

Fernanda was born in Brazil, but moved to study in the US, and currently lives and works in California. She studied in Maryland Institute Collage of Art and Ringling Collage of Art and Design. She was invited to work for Dreamworks Animation in 2006, where she still works as a surface animator. Besides having worked on most of the animated movies you’ve seen in the last few years, she opened an online bakery in 2013.

Fernanda Abarca Cakes make, well, cakes and cupcakes, usually associated with animated movies. And the company is big, too, being the go-to cupcake provider for any new animated romp. Can you taste the pixels already?
