Ceramics Teacher Turns Clay Into Cardboard

When he's not teaching at Illinois Central College, Tim spends time in his home studio, creating these amazing ceramic illusions of whatever texture he chooses to mimic. To achieve results like that, Tim has to get pretty creative. For example, to make the cardboard cups and plates feel realistic, he glazes the ceramics in certain areas to make it look like there's tape on them.
"Objects I am drawn to can be described as pathetic, absurd, antiquated, banal, or even garbage," writes the artist. "Objects are chosen that lack unique significance. However, I imagine a sublime provenance in these ordinary objects."
