Computer Scientist Photographs Doors And Windows Around The World
André Vicente Gonçalves, a computer scientist turned photographer, last year found a passion for different types of windows and put his finds in the project “Windows of the World.” This year he’s coming back with more, except this time it is the “Doors of the World.“
The Portuguese photographer has been meticulously documenting hundreds of doors on his travels in Europe and has put them in these impressive collages. All this variety put in one image forms a distinct pattern, revealing the dominating city’s architectural style, which helps understand where the unique feel of the city comes from.
“Doors of the World” offers a unique perspective on what we usually pay no attention to, but what no doubt plays a role in an overall impression of the city.
