Birds don't usually hitch rides on other birds. But that's what happened when this crow landed on a bald eagle. It all took place in Seabeck, Washington. Photographer Phoo Chan was taking photographs when a crow approached the eagle, likely trying to chase it away from its territory. Since the eagle took no notice, the crow momentarily landed on the larger bird before flying off.
“Eventually the crow flew away and the eagle continued to hunt for its breakfast,” Phoo Chan told a news website. “They both flew in different directions and it looked like they became friends.”
Chan has been featured in Natural Geographic, though probably not with pictures of eagle-jacking.
