Incredibly Tiny Galaxies, Animals And Books In Miniature Paintings By Lorraine Loots
Remember how Lorraine Loots painted a tiny picture a day in 2013 and 2014? She‘s back with a new (tiny) project – Potluck 100: Paintings for Ants! Much like before, she‘s making the tiniest of drawings with the most exacting of detail. Most of us can‘t make images that detailed with a canvas meters high and wide, yet Lorraine still shows us up. At least she‘s pacing herself this time – the images only come out four times a week. They are separated into four themed categories – #microcosmmondays are for images of space, #tinytuesdays are all about books (so far), #fursdays are all for animals and #freefridays do random paintings.
Lorraine is an artist out of Cape Town, who did her first huge tiny project in 2013, when she challenged herself to make one miniature image each day of a year. She did it again in 2014, to commemorate Cape Town‘s designation as world design capital 2014. The current project is much shorter, only starting in March, and continuing for 25 weeks.
This means that many more images are yet to come! Meanwhile, you can check out our previous coverage of her work here.
