The Old New World is not your usual CGI video project. Photographer and animator Alexey Zakharov of Moscow used actual vintage photos and brought them back to life with 3D animations.

'The Old New World' is not your usual CGI video project. Photographer and animator Alexey Zakharov of Moscow used actual vintage photos and brought them back to life with 3D animations.

He used images from the first half of the 1900s, taken in New York, Boston, Detroit, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. Online vintage photos warehouse Shorpy supplied Alexey with the pictures, which he then altered with 3D animations: “The main part of this video was made with camera projection based on photos,” says Alexey.

So comb your hair, polish your weekend shoes and scroll downstairs for a jazzy / moody trip to the 1900s.
