10 Mind-Blowing Punctilious Drawings Created With Geometric Patterns By Rafael Araujo

Published 1 year ago

Rafael Araujo is an artist who creates meticulous geometrical designs to draw things like shells and butterflies. He uses the concepts of spirals and helixes in his compositions and believes that nature is “full of spirals at all levels” too.

In an interview with DeMilked, the artist told us that his inspiration comes from nature as he is “astonished by its intrinsic and evident complexity and perfection”. Explaining more about his creative process, Araujo revealed, “I use to think geometrically (not verbally. First, I envision a subject and them, once on my drawing board (no software whatsoever) I, basically “know” how to solve it but perhaps not in its best proportions at the first try, so trial and error is part of the process”.

The fondness for detail can be clearly seen in the planning marks that the artist leaves for the viewers to understand the complexity of tiny things. Check out some of his stunning works in the gallery below. If you find them interesting, do follow Araujo on Instagram and you can also buy his adult coloring books here.
