Artist Turns Building Roofs Into Beds For Giants
Ella and Pitr takes street art to a whole new level: rooftops! Their use these oft forgotten places to paint their enormous creations. The size of the canvas leaves a certain impression on the artist, so they paint sleeping giants. They look like ordinary people rather than fantasy monsters, and they’re all curled up on their rectangular domiciles. It doesn’t look like a very comfortable place to sleep, but it doesn’t matter. The scale and the canvas is much more important to these art pieces that drone operators and helicopter pilots alike will enjoy.
Ella, a comedian, and Pitr, a graffiti artist, met in the streets of St. Etienne. They started working together (and even raising children) and cooperating on various urban art projects. They paint on the walls – though they claim that they don’t want the paintings to be intrusive – as well as rooftops and parking spaces.
