“The Tulip” Is A 1000 Ft Skyscraper For Tourists Planned To Be Built In London By 2025

Published 6 years ago

On November 13, the J. Safra Group and Foster + Partners have submitted a planning application to the City of London Corporation to build a new skyscraper called The Tulip. If approved, the construction would begin in 2020 and end in 2025.

The proposed building would be located next to The Gherkin and stand at 305.3 m (1001.7 ft) high. One of the key features of this new building would be what the architects call “A classroom in the sky” – an education facility at the top of the building that would offer 20,000 free places for the school children of London. The glass building would also offer beautiful 360-degree views of the city with the use of sky bridges, internal glass slides and gondola pod rides on the facade of the building.

Although the architects of the building aim high, many people are already criticizing its distinctive shape. Let’s hope it won’t be nominated for the Carbuncle Cup!

One day, this guy just kind of figured - "I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?" - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that's trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that's too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!

Got wisdom to pour?
