For over 15 years, artist Oriol Arumi has been adorning the walls of cities with his stunning murals, infusing life and vibrancy into urban landscapes. In an interview with DeMilked, he revealed that he has a remarkable background of 30 years in oil painting and his artistic journey has been shaped by a diverse range of influences like “Moebius-style comic book artists, surrealist painters like Dalí, or more realistic painters like Vermeer.”
Arumi’s artistic process begins with careful observation of the wall and surroundings, studying architectural details, textures, and colors for a harmonious integration. He strives to create themes that resonate with a broad audience, moving beyond personal preferences. Despite the challenges of painting in public spaces, he finds profound satisfaction in the technical aspect of bringing his concepts to life.
The artist says that the pursuit of creating murals is not only a path to personal fulfillment for him but also an avenue to contribute to the beauty and enrichment of cities.
