Unbelievable Body Art By Gesine Marwedel Turns People Into Plants, Animals And Paintings

Published 10 years ago

German artist Gesine Marwedel specializes in creating beautiful and elegant body paintings that transforms people into plants, animals, or even abstract works of art. Some of her works have an illusory nature, obscuring parts of the human body or making them seem like they’re something they’re not, while others simply use the human body as a canvas for her artwork.

Although Marwedel uses live human skin as a canvas, her art goes deeper than that. Marwedel also explores the therapeutic potential of her work, going so far as to publish a book (in German) on the therapeutic benefits of bodypainting.
