Photographer Finds Flags In The Streets Of Hong Kong

Published 9 years ago

Flags are a great way to represent gatherings of people based on common national ideas… nation states, if you will. And Instagram artist ‘thatsval’ likes finding flags in her daily life. Combining architecture and people moving about in their daily lives in photography, she has recreated the EU, Russian, Greek flags, and more.

“Flags are the perfect subject for a minimal, eye-catching picture thanks to its strong graphic elements: color blocking and geometric shapes above all” the author wrote on Bored Panda. It is also a fun and meaningful project for us as, a family of Italians living in the very international city of Hong Kong.”

Valentina Loffredo is the real person behind the work. Her photography is influenced by her love of graphic design. Most of Loffredo’s work features stark photographs of people juxtaposed withbare, minimalistic architectural backgrounds.

Good thing that many flags are relatively simple, then!
