This Furniture Created By A New Zealand Woodworker Looks Like It’s Straight Out Of A Tim Burton’s Movie
Any amateur furniture maker can build a plain old wardrobe or chest of drawers but it takes serious skill to create one that stands out from the rest. Just take Henk Verhoeff, a woodworker from New Zealand, for example. The man is an absolute master when it comes to woodcraft and his amazing logic-defying furniture that looks like it’s straight out of a Tim Burton movie recently went viral for all the right reasons.

New Zealand woodworker Henk Verhoeff recently went viral for his incredible furniture
It was actually Henk’s daughter that shared her father’s works to Facebook and people instantly fell in love with them.
The man’s style is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before – he manages to make wood look incredibly light and almost cartoon-ish.
Believe it or not, all of Henk’s furniture is fully functional!
Henk’s daughter, Linda, eventually created a Facebook page to display her father’s creations and it has already been liked by over 83k people.
“I describe my style of furniture as broken and weird. I like making weird furniture, something that you don’t see in a shop,” said the woodworker in an interview with Bored Panda.
The man says that the inspiration for his unique furniture comes from his “twisted brain”.
According to Henk, each piece of furniture can take him up to a hundred hours to finish. To create the furniture, the man uses New Zealand pine but occasionally uses Rimu, if he can get his hands on it.
Henk is a retired cabinet maker and has been doing woodworking for 53 years. “Now it is just my hobby and passion,” says the man.
Many people asked Henk to sell his incredible furniture but the man says he currently has no intention of doing so. “I started creating them for the pure love of it without the intention of selling them. But when I run out of space, there will be an eBay auction or two. Everything is for sale… except for my wife,” joked the woodworker.
Neither Linda nor Henk were expecting the furniture to blow up this way. “I was absolutely blown away at how this has gone viral, just a post my daughter put up on a page to share,” said the man. “I never expected ANYTHING like this.”
