From majestic lions to delicate butterflies, each of her embroidered animals tells a story of patience, dedication, and boundless creativity.

The artist’s journey into the world of embroidery began in 2018, but it was in 2021 that she truly honed her focus on realistic animal embroidery. In an interview with Demilked, she shared, “Initially, my animal embroidery style was a blend of character-like and realistic designs. As I gained more experience, I developed a desire to create more realistic pieces. I studied techniques from books and the internet, leading to my current style.”

Her dedication to mastering her artistry has resulted in a style characterized by lifelike precision and breathtaking detail. Nanatsuki’s process is as meticulous as her final creations, with each piece requiring careful planning and execution. When selecting a model for her embroidery, she meticulously chooses embroidery threads for each facial feature, ensuring that every stitch brings the animal to life. She reveals, “Once I’ve chosen a model, I select embroidery threads for each facial feature. I then meticulously stitch while referencing the model displayed on my computer screen.”

Nanatsuki’s dedication to detail is evident in the time and effort she invests in each piece. Wall hangings, which showcase her embroidered animals in all their glory, can take up to 1.5 months to complete. During this time, she utilizes around 60 different thread colors to capture the nuances of fur, feathers, and scales. “Wall hangings can take up to 1.5 months to complete, and I often use around 60 different thread colors,” the artist says.

Inspired by her love for all things sparkly and noble, Nanatsuki adorns some of her animal creations in ornate garments fit for royalty. The artist further elaborates, “The inspiration for dressing my embroidered animals came from my love for all things sparkly and regal. I believe that adorning my animal creations in noble attire enhances their inherent cuteness.”
