Gary Dimi Pohty’s Unique Logos Stimulates Viewers To Seek Hidden Meanings

Published 2 hours ago

Gary Dimi Pohty is an Indian graphic artist dedicated to creating one logo every day. He began learning graphic design in 2015 and started sharing his work online in 2017 with the ‘One Logo a Day’ challenge. This consistent effort has sharpened his skills, attracted valuable feedback from fellow designers worldwide, and expanded his following, giving him opportunities to engage with companies and brands globally.

Pohty reflects on his journey: “I still continue to post one logo a day, attracting influencers and renowned personalities. My dream is to keep doing what I love and to inspire others the way I was inspired by great designers when I started.”

On the influences behind his art, Pohty shares: “Though I was an engineering graduate, it wasn’t my passion. After college, while working for a tech firm, I explored web design during my free time, which led me to take a design course in my hometown Shillong. Over time, I fell in love with graphic design, especially logos and their hidden meanings.”

As a child, Pohty would spend hours searching for hidden shapes and figures on his bedroom wall. This tendency, he realises, sparked his fascination with logos and visual symbolism. Solving visual puzzles gives him immense joy, driving his mission to help brands discover meaningful identities through thoughtful logos.

Detailing his creative process, Pohty says, “My process is driven by strong emotion; I want viewers to feel the same excitement I do when they see my work. I spend hours searching for inspiration in icons and typography until I discover a hidden shape or idea. Then I sketch, refine digitally, and share. It’s rewarding when the audience resonates with my art. I apply the psychology of shapes, colours, and typography, blending design principles I’ve learned over the years. I’m still that kid at heart, always looking for hidden forms.”

He concludes, “The positive feedback I receive motivates me to continue, knowing that my work brings satisfaction when others unravel the hidden meaning behind a symbol.”

Shanilou Perera

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.

Got wisdom to pour?
