This Clever Cardboard Desk Is Recyclable, Portable, And Lets You Work Standing

Published 10 years ago

“Flexible, foldable, portable, affordable, and 100% recyclable” – this is how a team of designers from New Zealand describe their new portable cardboard standing desk, which they call “Refold.”

Fraser Callaway, Oliver Ward, and Matt Innes started their campaign on Kickstarter to raise funds for a 6.5 kg desk geared towards contemporary freelance working tendencies and needs.

When unfolded from its portable form, the table allows the user to work while sitting or standing, which will help avoid many of the health issues associated with sitting for extended periods of time.

Be sure to check their Kickstarter campaign page to find out more about the desk! Proceeds from some of the pledge options will help improve education in the Pacific Islands in collaboration with UNICEF New Zealand.

We see the desk as a blank canvas,” write the creators. “To celebrate it, we are establishing a series with New Zealand artists and illustrators. Our first is local Wellington artist – Gwil.
