SakoAsko Insightfully Illustrates The Inner Working Of The Human Mind

Published 2 hours ago

Santiago Oliveros, also known by his pseudonym SakoAsko, is a young artist whose work offers a profound exploration of the inner self. He seeks to avoid clichés in his art, presenting instead an unusual portrayal of the mind and its influence on human behaviour. Through his thought-provoking illustrations, SakoAsko invites viewers to confront the unsettling truth that we often lack control over our actions. His art begs the question: Who are we beneath our ego?

The Colombian artist’s depictions serve as a window into the soul, reflecting the conflicting nature of the human psyche. By carefully balancing technique and concept, SakoAsko provides insight into the hidden landscapes of the mind—he questions what motivates us to make critical choices or to defer them indefinitely. He states, “My formal academic training and fascination with drawing became the foundations of a uniquely concrete pictorial language, upon which I have built a small cosmos of anecdotal vignettes and enigmatic fables. The work strives to strike a balance between its rich narrative and a formal pictorial language.” SakoAsko’s preoccupation with our interior lives fuels his artistic journey. With a deep faith in image-making, he believes it can reveal vast internal processes that lie beyond the human eye.

Shanilou Perera

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.

Got wisdom to pour?
