20 Beautifully Candid Moments Of Life Captured By Snehal Dudekula

Published 3 months ago

Street photography has a unique power to uncover the hidden stories woven into everyday life. It captures those fleeting, unposed moments that often slip by unnoticed, freezing them in time. For Snehal Dudekula, a doctor by profession and a storyteller at heart, photography is more than documentation. It is an act of noticing, honoring, and sharing life as it naturally unfolds.

In an interview with DeMilked, Snehal shared how this passion was always a part of him. “I don’t think it ever really ‘started.’ It was just always there,” he reflects. “As a kid, I would watch films and then retell the story to my friends from my own perspective. That habit of observing, interpreting, and sharing never left me. Over time, I moved from words to photos and notes, but the intention stayed the same — to tell stories.”

What makes his work stand out is its tenderness. Instead of chasing spectacle, he turns his lens toward the quiet poetry of daily life, like small acts of love, fleeting gestures of kindness, or subtle details that most people might walk past. “It’s usually the ordinary things that inspire me,” he explains. “Those little things carry whole stories within them. More than just documenting, I like to think of myself as telling stories that spread kindness, love, and purpose.”

Armed most often with just his phone, he doesn’t follow a strict method. Instead, he moves with openness, letting moments come to him. “I walk with open eyes, open ears, and an open heart. Sometimes the stories come through words, sometimes through silence, but always through people and their journeys. When I take a photo, I’m not only capturing a scene, I’m trying to honor a moment or a feeling that deserves to be remembered.”

Through his images, Snehal Dudekula reminds us that even the smallest stories matter. His street photography feels like an invitation to slow down, notice, and connect.

““Wapas mein le aana !” [Bring it when you come back]
That’s all he said when I told him I didn’t have cash when I noticed he didn’t have UPI.
no worry, no hesitation. just a calm smile and those simple words !

Raju Bhaiya ! sells corn by the roadside.
so I asked if he had a phone number I could pay
He smiled and replied,
“Koi baat nahi, main yahin hoon. Wapas mein le aana.”
[I’ll be right here. just bring it when you return.]

Curious I asked
what if I don’t come back ?!
He laughed,
“Paise aa jaate hain. Bay-lens ho jayega ! Aise hi chalti hai duniya.” [Money comes. It’ll get balanced. This is how the world works]

He meant that somehow, life has its own way of balancing things out. He went on to share that he was happy today that he had sold most of his corn and was glad to share his happiness , as his own family lives back in his gaav
I couldn’t help but smile. my heart was full.
I returned with cash
not just for the corn, but for his wisdom and his trust in humanity ♥️!

In a world that often feels disconnected, its people like him remind us some hearts still run on warmth.”

But what stopped me was how he shared it with his pet, drinking from the same bottle, like it was the most natural thing to do!
His parents didn’t tell him to. He just did it.At his age, understanding that animals need care, even though they cannot ask, was such a beautiful sight!

“I met these adorable boys !
one was the magician, and the others were his “managers”

This little magician offered to show me a trick, saying I should pay him 20 rupees only if I liked it. The first time he tried, the coin slipped from his hands before he could finish. He was embarrassed and asked me not to pay.

I didn’t want to dishearten him, so I asked for a second try, promising more if I loved it
and this time, we filmed it and he nailed it !

Later, I found out the trick was something his grandparents had taught him , which they now turned into a way to earn pocket money, since asking their parents wasn’t easy given the situation at home.
and yes, they were bunking school to do this.
