10 Beautiful Handmade Steampunk Sculptures Created By Tomàs Barceló

Published 1 year ago

Tomàs Barceló is a Mallorca-based artist who creates steampunk-style sculptures from ceramic, plaster, and recycled objects. The artist has been playing with plasticine and construction games since he was a child, and now he has perfected his skills to create sculptures with deeper meanings.

Talking about his inspirations, Tomàs tells DeMilked, “As a child, I was passionate about fantasy and science fiction. Then I discovered archaic sculpture and fell in love with that art. I think my actual work is the result of those two passions.”

The artist further elaborates, “I am a traditional sculptor. I sculpt with clay and plaster as centuries ago, but then I cast the piece in resin and I assemble found objects. I think this world needs beauty, even if it doesn’t want it sometimes, and that is my job.”

Check out some of his wonderful works in the gallery below.
