15 Watercolor Paintings Of South African Wildlife And Their Habitats Embedded Inside Them

Published 2 years ago

Sujay Sanan, a South Africa-based artist, creates wonderful watercolor paintings of animals and their surroundings embedded inside them. The artist has been painting for almost 9 years now and he took up watercolor in 2016.

Sanan tells DeMilked, “I am inspired by the natural world. A deep desire to capture its essence as I perceive it. Life is so short and painting makes me feel like I live every moment of it.”

Talking more about his creative process, the artist elaborates, “I create paintings from imagination. A lot of sketches and studies go into understanding my subject after which I create compositions that either come to mind in an instant or I construct them based on a “feeling” I have. I try to maintain this “feeling” from the first brush stroke to the last.”

Check out some of his beautiful works in the gallery below.
