Top 25 European Wildlife Photos: German Society For Nature Photography’s Winners

The German Society for Nature Photography (GDT) recently announced the winners of the European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2023 competition. Javier Aznar González de Rueda from Spain claimed the top prize for his exceptional image, “Maternal Care.”

This year’s competition drew photographers from 42 European countries, and the international jury spent three days selecting 107 winning photos across nine standard categories and two special categories. Check out some of the most stunning winners in the gallery below.

The female can sometimes be 2 meters long, while the males are the size of lychee or walnut. The cape is apparently not a mating display, but a way to dazzle predators so she can get away.”
