Pippa was faced with the task of making the stairs safer for the children. The obvious solution was to carpet the stairs for £200. Yet browsing Pinterest she stumbled upon a photo of a staircase made out of book covers. That was all she needed to start a DIY project, that in the end cost her only £20 and because of the children's play sand she added to the paint, it was just as grippy as the carpet.
