10 Beautiful Abstract Paper Sculptures Created By Lyndi Sales

Published 1 year ago

Lyndi Sales, a Cape Town-based artist, has been creating paper sculptures for more than 24 years now. The artist uses painted strips of paper or printed maps to create her vibrant abstract sculptures with great precision and detail. Her compositions display a combination of art and science woven together to form transient magical worlds.

“I wanted to choose a material that was readily available and easy to manipulate without too much effort”, she tells DeMilked, “My creative process is meditative. It begins with painting the paper. I then spend weeks cutting and arranging the paper into colour codes. After that, I adhere the paper into units and the final stage is to assemble the compositions. It’s a slow process but I find it is a way to escape the world and  process my life.”

Check out some of her most stunning works in the gallery below.
