Bizarre Bicycle Seat Sculptures By Designer Clem Chen

Published 10 years ago

Canadian designer Clem Chen has transformed recycled bicycle pieces into bizarre but astonishing bicycle seat sculptures. The finalist for a recent designboom competition assembled two quirky sculptures, aptly titled “Bite It” and “Pink Eye.”

Chen used real bicycle seats that he carved out, inserting plastic-cast taxidermy molds in them to form unexpected features. The works were originally made for the “Saddle-Up” show in Vancouver, which was set to creatively recycle locally donated bicycle parts.
