20 “Very British Problems”, As Per This Twitter Account

Published 1 year ago

If there’s anything I’ve learned about British society’s origins, I would say its most likely from watching Downton Abbey. If you were glued to it as I was, you may have noticed British High Society reveres conversations interspersed with witty barbs and veiled hints. The most uptight of the bunch (Violet, the Dowager Countess comes to mind) even refused outright to communicate any other way. They felt it was impolite to say what they mean outright and as self-proclaimed pioneers of civilized society, they adhered to this notion with gusto!

Politely telling off someone for the minor inconveniences they have caused or passive-aggressively expressing frustration is an art the Brits mastered eons ago and if you want to increase your word-sparring repertoire, the following collection of British epithets (Dowager Countess approved of course)  are sure to deliver no less!

Shanilou Perera

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.

Got wisdom to pour?
