Controversial Illustrations Pinpoint The Darker Side Of Our Society

Published 10 years ago

Spanish artist Luis Quiles (aka Gunsmithcat) doesn’t mince words (or brushstrokes) when it comes to expressing his ideas about the global and social issues facing us. His illustrations are somewhere between edgy and inappropriate, denuding problems like sexism, homophobia, violence, misogyny and the abuse of social networks and technology.  He uses the most visually striking way he can without warranting censorship (though he’s run into it before).

These artworks really prove that sometimes, when you want to describe sensitive issues to your audience, you have to omit the subtleties.
