Natalia Tena played important roles in both of these epic tales. She played Nymphadora Tonks, a Metamorphmagus that could change her appearance on demand, in Harry Potter and helped the main heroes during the Battle of Hogwarts. In Game of Thrones, Natalia played Osha, a protector of the Stark children.

#2 Michelle Fairley

Michelle Fairley played Catelyn Stark in Game of Thrones and you have to agree she really killed it. What a lot of people don’t know is that she also played Hermione’s mother in the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

#3 Ian Whyte

Ian Whyte had quite a few roles in Game of Thrones: he played a White Walker in seasons 1 and 2, Gregor Clegane in season 2, Dongo The Giant in seasons 3 and 4, Wun Wun in seasons 5 and 6 and a Giant in season 8. He also played Olympe Maxime in the Harry Potter series… or rather his body did. Ian’s body was used for full-body shots to make the character appear taller.

#4 David Bradley

David Bradley played the part of Argus Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films. The actor appeared in Game of Thrones in 2010 as Lord Walder Frey. The actor even joked that he would not mind seeing Walder die in a painful manner.

Jim Broadbent played the charismatic Potions Master Horace Slughorn in the Harry Potter series and appeared in 3 movies. He played Archmaester Ebrose in the 7th season of Game of Thrones.

#6 Julian Glover

Now this one’s rather unusual – Julian Glover didn’t technically act in the Harry Potter series – his voice did. He voiced Acromantula in the Harry Potter movies and played grand master Pycelle in 31 episodes of Game of Thrones before being stabbed in the 6th season.

#7 Ciarán Hinds

Ciarán Hinds might be hard to recognize without his beard but it’s the same actor who played both Dumbledore’s brother Aberforth Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series and Mance Rayder, the leader of the Free Folk, in Game of Thrones.

#8 Freddie Stroma

Freddie Stroma played Cormac McLaggen, a seventh-year student in the final three Harry Potter films. He also played a minor role in Game of Thrones as Dickon, Samwell Tarly’s younger brother. However, the role was later recast by actor Tom Hopper due to scheduling conflicts.

Sally Mortemore played librarian Irma Pince in the Harry Potter series and was loathed by the students. She appeared in Game of Thrones and played the small rose of a Bravoosi woman in season 6.

Daniel Tuite played the role of Lothar Frey after fellow actor Tom Brooke quit. Even though Brooke was later recast, Tuite got to keep the role. The actor also played a minor role in the Harry Potter series as a ministry wizard.

#13 Nicholas Blane

Nicholas Blane played a minor role of a ministry employee in Harry Potter and The Order Of Pheonix and later got the role of Spice King in Game of Thrones. The actor starred in 3 episodes before his character was killed by Pyat Pree in season 2.

#14 Edward Tudor-Pole

It takes a true die-hard fan to remember this actor’s role in Harry Potter. He played a book shop owner in the series but only appeared in the deleted scenes DVD of Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets. His appearance in Game of Thrones was pretty minor too – he played a protester in the second season of the show.
